Meet the Team

Hi, I’m Ethan Marsh,

Having my own sled dog kennel has truly been a transformative experience, one that has enriched my life in countless ways. The love and companionship they offer have not only brought me joy but have also significantly strengthened my friendships and family relationships.

Since I welcomed these furry friends into my home, I've witnessed a remarkable shift in how my friends interact with me. They have rallied around me, offering their support and assistance in caring for the dogs, often prioritizing the needs of the animals above their own. It’s been heartwarming and inspiring to see this selflessness in action; whether it’s friends volunteering to help with chores, visits to the vet, or simply spending time playing with them, their willingness to step up has deepened our bonds and created a sense of community around our shared love for these dogs.

Meet the Dogs

Our Dogs are Direct Descendants of 10th Mountain Division Sled Dogs

Today our sled dogs carry forward the legacy of the 10th Mountain Division. Our team of dogs is directly descended from the courageous sled dogs that once served alongside soldiers during their training. We take heavy pride in continuing the tradition of working with these remarkable animals who possess the same resilience, adaptability, and spirit that characterized the soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division.

  • Snoop

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Very calm till she gets on the line, she is a very well mannered lady. She saves all of her craziness up until put on the line where she immediately lets it all out.

  • AJ

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Very well mannered on and off the sled. AJ is one of our strongest, and also most dedicated team members.

  • Alfalfa

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Very strong and very loud. When we put Alfalfa on the line, he lets us know how excited he is. He's a very good boy and pulls extremely hard next to his brother AJ. Back home at the kennel, alfalfa is a goofball. Careful giving him kisses! He likes to give you a small nose chomp :)

  • Fidel

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Fidel is the first dog I have had the honor to train into sledding. I'm extremely proud of the dog he is becoming. Whether it’s his family display of manners, sitting at my feet when he's excited and wants pets or showing his skill by leading the team with Kaltag, Fidel loves the sled dog lifestyle and I couldn't be happier with him.

  • Kaltag

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Our oldest dog and our best lead Kaltag is 10 with the heart of a puppy. We don't know when he will want to quit running, if ever. But when he does, he will receive the royal retirement treatment.

  • Ashcroft

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Has the spirit of a wild mustang. Ashcroft is half Malamute, half Alaskan husky. She thinks she is 100% wolf. She talks A LOT.

  • Captain

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Born Christmas eve 2024 - captain has lots of energy. I'm excited to see who he becomes.

  • Basalt

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Our best sled dog by far, super talented lives to run. He thrives on any position on the sled. We use Basalt to teach the youngins how to run because of his impeccable technique and drive to pull. Basalt does not like to take breaks and he will let you know as soon as he is over it.

  • Cayenne

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

The strongest dog in the kennel, has a bottomless pit of energy. Cayenne has always had power, but he has recently started to improve his technique. His power is now starting to be sustained, and he lasts longer now going full throttle.

  • Pepper

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

The goofiest dog you’ll ever meet, he makes me laugh every morning.

  • Daly

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Daly is extremely beautiful and has really great running form.

  • Moff

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

A very squeaky dog. He loves to run and is one of our most improved dogs since adoption. He likes to play rough when free running. Lots of growling.

  • Rio

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Such a love bug. If Rio is out of his house, he is right by my side trying to get some pets and kisses. When on the pulls his whole body as far back as he can to get a running start jumping into his harness.

  • Grande

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Grande is our only dog with a blue eye. He is a funny boy. If you're wearing gloves he will try to steal them!!

  • Tesla

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

He is our best mannered dog on the sled. He pulls in the straightway line and never goes slack. He is still a bit shy and doesn't really like to be pet but we are working on it and see progress and growth in trust everyday.

  • Slice

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Part of snoops Rapid litter, I see major lead potential with slice. Particularly because of his good manners.

  • Dice

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Twins with Slice, Dice is a funny boy. He is one of the biggest of the rapid litter.

  • Tricky

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Tricky is such a well mannered good boy. He loves to give kisses, just like his twin brother, Dicky.

  • Dicky

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Dicky has lots of energy. And he talks a lot. He and his brother Tricky are going to be an absolute power duo.

  • Rainbow

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Rainbow is going to be the fastest dog we have. She will also be the one to continue our sled dog lineage. She is an extreme athlete and can vault 7 foot fences.

  • Sunshine

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

She has Rainbow’s extreme athleticism, but has great manners. I'm excited to see what her future holds.

  • Cedar

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Adopted by Julian, cedar basically runs free. We will see how he takes to sledding. He's a cute boy, only listens to Julian… sometimes.

  • Digo

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Digo was my first dog ever. He's who got me into mushing, although he's an Australian cattle dog/lab mix. When he was younger he had so much energy I had to start having him pull me down the river trail. I got a job at Krabloonik to make his life better, and it made mine what it is today. In a way I owe all of this to Digo. Digo is a really good guard dog as well.

  • Toklat

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

Very free spirit like his sister Ashcroft. Toklat is damn near uncontainable. The good thing is he doesn’t leave, He’ll just break out of his kennel then stay around the main area.

  • Pyramid

    #fhtogglels/Read Bio/Close/ib

    Pyramid is free-spirited and smart.

We get it. You need to meet these pups.

(Psssst. They really want to meet you, too.)
